QUEST / LAYOUT DESIGN
Quest is a monthly biking magazine that spotlights new biking trails, products, and technology. The magazine cover everything from the casual rider to competitive racing. Through the design, the brand needed to feel cutting edge, cool, and like a breath of fresh air. To achieve this, I split my focus between layout and proportions, photography, and articles. The layout of the pages makes use of contrasting a large element with a smaller element. Finding which element I could blow up and remain tasteful was a fun challenge. For the photography, I set out to find images that both pertained to the article and the aesthetics of the brand. It was also important that I could use the photos in conjunction with fun type or an interesting layout.
